1. Introduction

Sam Krish ("Developer", "we", "us", or "our") built the Ashtanga Yoga And Meditation application (the "App") as a free Android application supported by advertising. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App and its third-party advertising partner handle, how it is used, and your rights.

By downloading or using the App you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.

2. Information We Collect

A) Data the App stores locally (never transmitted by us):

• Pranayama / yoga session history (technique name, duration, date)
• Daily goal settings and streak count
• Favorite techniques
• Journal / mood log entries (text and mood rating you enter)
• Reminder preferences (days, time)

This data is stored using Android's Room database and DataStore Preferences — on-device APIs with no network connection. It never leaves your device unless you explicitly use Android's cloud backup.

B) Data collected automatically by Google AdMob (third-party advertising):

The App uses Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may automatically collect the following information when ads are loaded or displayed:

• Device information (model, OS version, language, screen size)
• Advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID — AAID)
• IP address (used to determine approximate location for ad targeting)
• App usage and ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, view duration)
• Diagnostics and performance data (for fraud prevention and ad delivery quality)

No account registration is required. We do not directly collect your name, email, phone number, or precise location. AdMob data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Information

App data (local only):

• Session history — to display your past sessions and progress.
• Daily goals & streaks — to motivate consistent practice.
• Favorites — to surface preferred techniques quickly.
• Journal / mood logs — to reflect on how you feel after sessions.
• Reminder preferences — to schedule local notifications (see §7).

AdMob data: Data collected by Google AdMob is used to:

• Serve relevant advertisements (personalized or non-personalized)
• Measure ad performance and prevent ad fraud
• Comply with Google's own legal and contractual obligations

We do not use AdMob data for any purpose other than displaying ads within the App.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA). AdMob is our sole advertising partner.

AdMob may process data to:

• Show ads (including personalized ads where consent is given)
• Measure ad performance and conduct attribution
• Prevent invalid traffic and ad fraud
• Comply with applicable legal and Google policy obligations

5. Consent & Advertising Choices

Where required by applicable law (e.g., in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland under GDPR), the App will display a consent dialog before loading any personalized ads. You may accept or decline personalized advertising.

If you decline personalized ads, you may still see non-personalized ads based on contextual information only.

You can manage your advertising preferences at any time by:

• Resetting or opting out of your Android Advertising ID: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset Advertising ID / Delete Advertising ID
• Opting out of ads personalization: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
• Reviewing or updating consent choices within the App (where the in-app consent mechanism is available)

6. Other Third-Party Services

The App embeds the Android YouTube Player library (PierFrancescoSoffritti/android-youtube-player) to display optional demonstration videos within the App.

When you watch a YouTube video inside the App, YouTube (operated by Google LLC) may collect information about that interaction in accordance with its own privacy policy. We have no control over and no access to any data collected by YouTube.

Internet permission: The App requests the INTERNET permission for loading YouTube videos and serving ads via AdMob.

7. Text-to-Speech (TTS)

The App uses the Android device's built-in Text-to-Speech (TTS) engine to provide Hindi-language audio guidance for pranayama sessions.

• No audio is recorded by the App.
• No microphone permission is requested or used.
• TTS synthesis happens entirely on-device; no text or audio is transmitted to any server by the App.
• The TTS engine itself is provided by your device manufacturer or Google (e.g., Google Text-to-Speech). If you use a third-party TTS engine installed on your device, that engine's own privacy policy applies.

8. Local Notifications & Reminders

The App lets you set daily meditation reminders. These reminders are implemented using Android WorkManager — a local task-scheduling API — and the standard Android notification system.

• No push-notification server or third-party messaging service (e.g., Firebase Cloud Messaging) is used.
• Reminder schedules are stored locally in DataStore.
• You can disable notifications at any time via Android Settings → Apps → Ashtanga Yoga And Meditation → Notifications.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

App data (local): All locally stored data is retained on your device as long as the App is installed. We operate no servers and hold no personal data on our side.

AdMob data: Data collected by Google AdMob is retained and managed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and applicable law.

You can permanently delete all local App data in two ways:

• Android Settings: Settings → Apps → Ashtanga Yoga And Meditation → Storage → Clear Data. This deletes the Room database, DataStore preferences, and any cached content.
• Uninstall the App: Uninstalling removes all local data from your device (unless Android cloud backup has copied it — manage this in your Android backup settings).

To request deletion of data held by Google/AdMob, visit myaccount.google.com.

10. Children's Privacy

Ashtanga Yoga And Meditation is not directed to children under the age of 13. Because the App displays advertisements via Google AdMob — which may involve the collection of advertising identifiers — the App is intended for general audiences (13+) and is not designed for or marketed to children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used this App, please contact us at the email below. We will work with Google/AdMob to address your concern in accordance with applicable law, including COPPA.

11. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data to any third party.

The only data sharing that occurs is between Google AdMob and its advertising partners, governed entirely by Google's own terms and privacy policy. We have no access to or control over the data AdMob processes.

We do not share, rent, or trade your locally stored App data with anyone.

12. Security

Locally stored App data is protected by the Android operating system's sandboxing and app-level storage isolation. Network traffic related to AdMob and YouTube is handled over encrypted HTTPS connections.

We recommend keeping your Android device updated and using a screen lock to prevent unauthorized access to your device.

13. Your Rights

App data: All locally stored data is fully under your control. You may delete it at any time as described in §9.

AdMob / Google data: For data processed by Google, you may exercise rights (access, correction, deletion, portability) via:

• Google Ads Settings — adssettings.google.com

EEA / UK (GDPR): You have the right to withdraw ad-personalization consent at any time (see §5). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California (CCPA): We do not sell personal information. AdMob data sharing with advertising partners may constitute a "sale" under California law; you may opt out via your Android Advertising ID settings (see §5).

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Significant changes will also be noted in the App's Play Store listing update notes where feasible.
